If you can find a reasonably priced flight into Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ), it's usually the easiest option.

The airport is much closer to Bradenton and Anna Maria Island than Tampa International Airport. Depending on traffic and your exact destination, you can often be relaxing at your vacation rental within 20 to 40 minutes of landing.

When comparing flights, check both airports before booking.

Many travelers automatically search Tampa because it's the airport they know. But sometimes Sarasota is only slightly more expensive and can save you an hour or more of travel time on arrival day.

If you're staying near Anna Maria Island or Bradenton, Sarasota is usually the most convenient airport. If Tampa offers a much better fare or a nonstop flight, it's still an excellent choice.

Either way, you're only a short drive from some of Florida's best beaches, waterfront restaurants, and Gulf Coast sunsets.
